RAM Pilot privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
RAM Pilot is a Chrome extension that puts tabs you aren't using to sleep to save memory. It works entirely on your computer.
What RAM Pilot collects
Nothing. RAM Pilot has no account, no analytics and no ads, and it makes no network requests. No information about you or your browsing is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
What RAM Pilot uses on your computer
- Tab addresses, to decide which tabs to keep awake (for example the sites on your keep-awake list, AI chats and video calls). They are compared on your computer and not stored.
- Free memory reported by Chrome, to switch to a stronger mode when your computer runs low.
- Your settings, the current mode and today's totals (tabs put to sleep, memory freed), saved in Chrome's storage on your computer. Removing the extension removes them.
Protect what I type (optional)
If you turn on Protect what I type, Chrome asks you to let RAM Pilot run on all sites. A small script then notices only whether a text box you edited is empty or not, so that tab is never put to sleep with your text in it. It never reads, stores or sends what you type or the contents of any page. You can turn it off at any time in RAM Pilot's settings.
Sharing
RAM Pilot does not sell, share or transfer any data, because it does not collect any.
